The Superintendent is empowered to close the schools, delay starting time, or dismiss schools early in the event of severe weather or other emergencies that threaten the health, safety, or welfare of students.
The Superintendent shall use his/her judgment in allowing the completion of normal bus schedules on severe weather days. In case any regular bus trip is cancelled, every effort shall be made to notify building principals and parents as soon as possible.
Students, parents, and staff shall be informed early in each school year how they will be notified of emergency school closings or early dismissals. Except for teachers and staff members who work only on student days, all personnel shall report to work as soon as possible on emergency days unless notified otherwise by the administration.
