MAINTENANCE AND CONTROL OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
Under Colorado law, school districts may furnish free textbooks to school-age pupils enrolled in the public schools of the District. This is a matter within the discretion of the Board, although free textbooks must be provided to indigent children enrolled in the public schools.
The Board makes basic textbooks available for all its students, free of charge. However, the textbooks remain the property of the District, and fines shall be assessed for the loss or misuse of classroom books.
Musical Instruments
A limited number of District-owned musical instruments are available for student use, and may be loaned to students on a year-to-year basis depending upon the effort and progress of the student. The instruments remain the property of the District and fines shall be assessed for their loss or misuse.
All District-owned instruments shall be inventoried annually, and teachers will be responsible for maintaining inventory records on instruments loaned to students.
