Reading

 We are reading Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke.  We are learning about author's purpose as we are reading.  We are noticing why the author included each chapter. 

 WritingWe are learning about figurative language: Similes, metaphor, alliteration, personification and onomatopoeia.
 Colorado Studies We are learning about early explorers of Colorado:  Spanish, Exploration after the Louisiana purchase, and Trappers and Traders.  We are looking at how changes in environment, needs, and resources motivate choices.
 Math We are working on unit 8: Area and Perimeter  Again, it's important to keep practicing multiplication facts.
 Science

 We have learned about magnetism and electricity.  Click on the Foss Icon to take you to the unit we are currently learning about.

Click on the link under attachments (further down the page) It is a .kmz file for our Google Earth Tour.  You will need Google Earth downloaded on your computer for this to work. If you click on the attachment below, you can download a book project we worked on last year.  The book is Frozen Stiff by Sherry Shahan and takes place in Alaska.  We read the book as a class, bookmarked places where the story events took place in google earth, and wrote a summary.  

You will need to have google earth downloaded onto your computer.
