Welcome to my website. My name is Doug Fountain. I am a Learning Specialist in the Instructional Support Services Department at Sagewood. I am the Learning Specialist attached to the Mt. Lion and Cougar teams. I teach one of the Strategies Math classes. Strategies Math is an off-level class for 7th and 8th graders that need additional math skill before entering Math 7 or Math 8 classes. |
What do we work on in Strategies Math?
This is a general outline of what happens and when during the school year. 1st Quarter - Whole Numbers and Basic Operations. Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. 2nd Quarter - Basic Operations using Decimals and begin Basic Operations using Fractions. 3rd Quarter - Complete Fractions using Basic Operations, convertion of Fractions to Decimals, and begin Integers using Basic Operations 4th Quarter - continue with Integers using Basic Operations, Percents, and some Geometry |
