Location: The Counseling Center is located in the Student Services area of Thunder Ridge High School. Parents, please sign in at the securtiy kiosk before going to the counseling Center.

Hours: The Counseling Department is open M- Th from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30.

Goal: The primary goal the Counseling Center is to assist students to function at their optimum level. Counselors work with students individually and in groups. We have 3 areas of focus including: academic counseling, social/emotional counseling, and post grad counseling. Referrals may be made to community counseling sources as well as to other sources of information. For more information about our services please see the Services link on Counseling Center's website.

Appointments: Students are seen by appointment. This assures sufficient time for processing concerns brought to the counselor. Please see the counseling receptionist, to schedule appointments. Students are assigned a counselor based on their Seminar teacher. Please see the link to Counselor Assignments for this information, or look on your Infinite Campus Schedule.

Social Norms Education at ThunderRidge High School

The Social Norms Project is a positive prevention tool used to decrease substance abuse among students.  Data is collected through an anonymous survey, taken by students each school year. The objective of the campaign is to educate students about actual vs. perceived use of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana, positively influencing their decisions and showing them that the best choice of non-use, is being made by the majority of their peers. Students ranked parents, teachers, doctors and police as the most believable sources of information about substances. Parents and teachers share an important role in this process!
