WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO ENROLL MY CHILD AT LONE TREE ELEMENTARY?
Lone Tree Elementary is an all Open Enrollment school. All students, Kindergarten through 6th grade are accepted on a space available basis. The application process applies to all families new to the school regardless of grade level. Lone Tree Elementary follows the Douglas County School District guidelines and time frame.
HOW DOES THIS PROCESS BEGIN?

The District opens up an Open Enrollment window around December 1st and closes it around January 15th. We post the exact dates on our website as soon as we receive them from District. You may also check the District Website for this information.

An Open Enrollment Form will be available for you on the District website and on the Lone Tree website for you to download, from December 1, 2009 - January 15, 2010. Parents must complete this form and return it to the Lone Tree Elementary office before 4:00 p.m. on January 15, 2010.

Your child must be 5 years old by October 1, 2010 to register for Kindergarten. (No Exceptions)

You must live within the Douglas County School District boundaries.

After the window closes, an acceptance process begins according to space availability. This is not a first come, first serve process and there is not a "waiting list." We will not accept any application for enrollment before the Open Enrollment period.

The order of priority is as follows:

Letter of Intent (these are families who signed that they would send their children to Lone Tree Elementary, if the school was built).
- Siblings of students already enrolled at Lone Tree Elementary

One mile radius of Lone Tree Elementary (not crossing Lincoln or Yosemite)

Lottery system
WHEN WILL I KNOW IF MY CHILD IS ACCEPTED TO LONE TREE ELEMENTARY?
All families will receive either a letter of acceptance or a letter of denial by the end of January. Your child's acceptance is based on space availability and the priorities listed above. If you receive an acceptance letter, you will be asked to complete the acceptance form and return it to our office by a specific date. If we do not receive the form by that date, your name will be removed from our list and we will proceed to offer the opening to another family. If you receive a letter of denial, we will keep your form on file. We will continue to pull from the lottery of Open Enrollment Forms as openings occur. We accept students thru the end of September.
