2013-2014 School Year Information

• Closed for Summer break: June 24, 2013 through July 5, 2013
• Open during Summer break:  Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and closed on Fridays through July 31, 2013

• Student Enrollment for 2013 or Withdrawal:  Contact the Registrar at 720-433-1405
• 2013-2014 school year check-in process (must complete both items below):
  • Express Check-in Click here to complete on-line Express Check-in effective July 17, 2013 through August 1, 2013 (primary household parent must complete express check-in)
  • Student and Parent(s) Check-in will take place at Cimarron Middle School on August 5, 2013 from 7:30-4:30 (closed for lunch) or late student check-in on August 8, 2013 from 7:30-11:30 a.m.
    • Students will take a school picture and receive a student I.D. (click here to access the Dress Code Policy)
      
      • Download Lifetouch School Portrait package below (not available at this time)
        
    • Bring student immunization records if they are not updated (Tdap is one of the required immunizations)
    • Spirit wear and physical education uniforms ($10 for set) will be available for purchase
    • Sign up for volunteer opportunities
    • Set up a DCSD Nutrition services account, add money to an account, or access the lunch menu by clicking here
    • To apply for Free/Reduce for 2013-2014 school year, all requests need to be done online starting July 15, 2013 by clicking here.  If you are accepted, please bring a copy of your letter with you to Check-In on either Monday, August 5th or Thursday, August 8th.  This will expedite your process.

• School begins for all students on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 7:25 a.m.

  • Student schedules can be viewed through parent and student portal on July 17th
  • Students will receive a color coded schedule to use on the first day of school

Three day transition program designed to ensure a positive transition from elementary to middle school - Cost $50

Great Strides
Ten day academic program focuses on Language Arts/Strategies and/or Math Strategies to help students
get a great start to middle school - Cost $50 per session

Second Round Open Enrollment

effective April 15, 2013 through August 15, 2013

Families who wish to enroll their student in a school other than their neighborhood school must complete an Open Enrollment application, available online through the District website. Applications for the first round are accepted November1 through January 5 annually*. Round one applications are accepted for the following school year on a space available basis. Waiting lists, which are prioritized according to regulation JCA/JFB-R, will be created if applicants exceed space available at the requested school. If a student is not accepted at a school during the first round choice enrollment, the student will remain on the school’s prioritized waitlist and be carried over to the second round choice enrollment.
