Denver's 5280 Magazine named three DCSD elementary schools to its list of Top Elementary Schools in the Denver area. The article, Primary Colors, written by Luc Hatlestad names Flagstone , Stone Mountain and Timber Trail elementary schools in Castle Rock, in its listing of top elementary schools in Denver!  Flagstone Elementary is highlighted for its library collection of more than 10,000 books and its extensive computer facilities. • Supportive parents - Flagstone benefits from wonderful parental involvement.  Our PTO is a group of engaged and active parents who support many school activities and has contributed thousands of dollars for materials to support student learning.
• Dedicated staff - The teaching and support staff at Flagstone are great at what they do. They model lifelong learning, effective collaboration and continued growth as professionals.
• Commitment to academic achievement - Student learning is carefully monitored, celebrated and supported through interventions in every classroom.
• Whole child education - Creative programming allows Flagstone students access to art, music, physical education, library and technology as well as extra- curricular opportunities to build leadership and citizenship through the Green Team, Student Ambassadors, and Grade-level Leadership Months.
• Desire to improve - Each and every member of the Flagstone staff demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond to help students grow - and it feels wonderful to be recognized for this effort!

  We are excited to announce that we will be implementing a new report card in the 2010-11  s chool year:  the Elementary Progress Report (EPR).

Our student enrollment for 2010-11 will be 690 students .  Students will arrive and depart from school on 7 buses, daycare vans, cars, bikes, and by walking. To ensure organization and safety during our drop-off and pick-up times, we are making some changes to past procedures.

  Pots and Pans in Lounge

Many parents generously provide food for conferences, classroom parties, and meetings, and the containers and serving pieces are sometimes left at school.

If you're missing a glass plate, casserole, pie tin, pizza pan, or bowl, please stop by the staff lounge and check out the collection in the center cabinet.

We could use LOTS of volunteers in the library!

The Help Your School program was in itiated by numerous parent groups throughout Douglas County School District as a way to help raise much-needed funds to offset budget reductions that the schools are currently facing today and in the years to come.
