Our Vision  We are a nurturing learning environment preparing future leaders for a globally connected, interdependent world.

Our Mission  We grow responsible citizens who learn by doing, who exemplify the Lifelong Guidelines and LIFESKILLS, and who work and learn collaboratively. We provide a rich learning environment that engages the senses, encourages civic-mindedness, and fosters critical thinking.  Our MicroSociety (R) and our Highly Effective Teaching instructional model engage students in real world learning today so they are prepared for tomorrow.

Lone Tree Elementary is Douglas County's second elementary magnet school and its first using the instructional model called Highly Effective Teaching (HET). The school was designed to provide an innovative educational program for students in Douglas County using experiential, hands-on learning, with real-world problem-solving activities. The HET instructional model supports teachers as they create safe, enriched learning environments; write meaningful curriculum based on real locations in our community; plan lessons and inquiries with the multiple intelligences of their students in mind; and use movement and music to enhance learning. Another aspect of our innovative school design is our MicroSociety (R) called Mane Meadows, a community created by children as a microcosm of the real world inside the schoolhouse.
