TTE Teacher Receives Award |
We are happy to share that our own Jane Lenz has received the honor of being the "Macaroni Kid Teacher of the Season for Douglas County"! In addition to the nomination, Mrs. Lenz received an award package worth over $300.
Jane was nominated by a parent who shared this with the selection committee: " Ms. Jane Lenz should receive the honor of the "Teacher of the Season" because she is an amazing teacher, mentor, and friend. As the Significant Support Needs Learning Specialist at Timber Trail, she works directly with the children with special needs, but she is also known through the school by all the other students and staff. Her humor and outgoing personality bring joy to everyone around her. On many mornings during drop off, you can see her laughing and possibly dancing for the arriving students. She truly is a gifted educator and should be recognized."
Learn more about Macaroni Kid and the Teacher of the Season program, by visiting our newsletter and website at Macaroni Kid Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock and Teacher of the Season. Macaroni Kid Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock covers all of Douglas County and has been around since May of 2011. The newsletter is delivered to nearly 2800 families in our area. Their goal is to be a valuable resource to parents and to keep them "in the know" with local events and activities, as well as informational articles and parenting tips.

TTE DRESS CODE REMINDERS Dressing appropriately for all school functions is a way of showing Timber Trail pride. Neatness and cleanliness are the hallmarks of appropriate dress. If the staff feels that any of the dress codes have been violated, parents will be called to bring a change of clothing for their student. Good judgment in dress is expected at Timber Trail. In an effort to promote a safe and educationally sound environment for the students, the following dress code will be in effect at Timber Trail Elementary: 1. No hair dye of unnatural color. 2. No low-cut/revealing tops of any kind. Tank tops must have a strap of at least three finger widths. No-off the shoulder tops of any kind. Sweaters, shirts, or jackets must be worn at all times over tops with spaghetti straps. 3. No high-cut/revealing shorts or skirts of any kind. Shorts and skirts must be even or longer than finger tips when arms are straight down at sides. We ask that girls wear shorts under skirts and dresses to help with modesty while sitting on the floor and during recess. 4. No beach wear (swim suits, etc.). This includes spaghetti strap, tank tops, and flip flops. Exceptions may be made for special activities. 5. No clothing that suggests obscene gestures, pictures, wording and/or drugs, alcohol, or the occult. 6. Baseball caps/hats/visors may not be worn inside the building. 7. No clothing which is determined to be significant of gang association. 8. No apparel, hairstyle or makeup which is deemed disruptive to the educational process. No rings, bracelets or chains which may be considered a safety hazard or used as a weapon. 9. No significantly oversized, off-the-shoulder, baggy or saggy clothing. 10. Clothing must cover undergarments. 11. Appropriate footwear shall be worn throughout the day. Tennis shoes must be worn on P.E. days or children will sit out for safety reasons. 12. Students should use good judgment and not wear shorts when the weather is too cool ... regardless of the month!
If students are found to be in violation of any part of the dress code, a call will be made home to have parents/guardian bring a change of clothing. If parents can not be reached, sweatpants and t-shirt will be available for students to wear for the day. Thank you for your help and support. |

Kiss 'n Go Lane ~ Top 10 Reminders! |
Looking forward to next year and anticipating changes. We know that since all students will be in session at once, our Kiss 'N Go Lane and parking lot are going to be crowded at drop off and dismissal. We would like to start practicing now. Please be aware of a few things that will keep our line moving, while keeping students safe. Please……
1. Stay in your car!!!!! Do not get out to open the car door for your child.
2. Pull all the way through the crosswalk before stopping.
3. Do not let your child exit your car on the driver's side. This is unsafe.
4. Motion to a staff member if you would like us to open the door for your child.
5. If you need to get out of your car for any reason (to give your teacher a note, to talk to a bus driver, to help your child put their backpack on), please park in the upper parking lot and walk your child through the crosswalk.
6. Have your child/ren ready to exit your car quickly (coat on, backpack ready, shoes on…)
7. If your child is unable to exit your car independently, please park in the upper parking lot.
8. Do not motion for your child to walk unattended through the crosswalk to the upper parking lot. We've had a few "close calls".
9. Walkers: please wait for the crosswalk attendant to acknowledge you before crossing.
10. Thank you for cooperating and being respectful to our staff who work so hard everyday to make sure your children are safe and our Kiss 'N Go Lane moves efficiently.
Please feel free to pass this message on to grandparents, babysitters, siblings, etc.
