2008-2009 Apple Awards
The Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF) in cooperation with the Douglas County Federation (DCF) and the Douglas County School District (DCSD) are pleased to announce the 2008-2009 Golden Apple Awards will be held on March 14th, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the district, this year's Apple Awards will be cloaked in gold celebrating the power of 50 years.
The Apple Awards is a fund-raising event that raises between $80,000-$100,000 per year with proceeds directly benefiting Douglas County schools. This annual celebration of DCSD teachers is made possible through the sponsorship of many local and national companies. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact the DCEF at 303-387-0505.
Over seventy teachers have been selected to represent their local schools at the upcoming Golden Apple Awards. Even though these teachers represent a small number of the highly qualified and truly inspirational teachers we have throughout Douglas County, they provide wonderful examples of how teachers touch lives on a daily basis in and out of the classroom. DCEF Partnership Program
The Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF) in
cooperation with the Douglas County School District (DCSD) and the Douglas
County Federation of Teachers/Classified Employees (DCF), as well as numerous
local and national businesses, have established the "DCEF Partnership
Program." The program encourages
businesses to create special incentive programs that provide resources and
benefits to the employees and residents of Douglas County
schools.
The program itself is designed to address the daily
expenditures of employees and residents. The intent is to provide the
best possible opportunity for them to receive the biggest bang for their
buck! This is not a marketing program for our partners. These partners have
all made substantial commitments to the employees of the DCSD, through the
Foundation.
Employees will now be able to access these opportunities
through a variety of locations, all ending up at the DCEF website under
Partnerships. Here's a sampling of companies that have already made a
commitment to the DCEF Partnership Program: AutoNation Direct, Papa John's,
Breckenridge Resorts, 24 Hour Fitness, Ralph Schomp Automotive, Verizon Wireless
and many more on the way!

Local Value Fundraising
The DCEF is proud to
announce a new fundraising partnership with Local Value Fundraising. LVF is a free online program that will allow our schools to raise money safely and
effectively 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Unlike most fundraising programs, Local Value does not require our school's students or parents to purchase products for
resale, sell items door-to-door, collect money or deliver orders to customers.
All students and parents need to do is direct their supporters to their
respective school's webpage (provided at no charge to
each school and fundraising group), where consumers can purchase credits good at over 100 local businesses here in Douglas County that offer all
sorts of products and services. More
businesses are joining every week and the choices are growing.
Our schools receive a 40% commission on all sales made thru their webpage. An additional 10% is donated to the
DCEF. LVF handles
all orders, payment processing and deliveries.
To sign up for the FREE Local Value Fundraising Program
go to: www.localvaluefundraising.com or contact the DCEF.
