Expert Technician Academy (ETA) is an industry/workforce/education partnership that addresses hard-to-fill skilled employment needs in Aerospace, Energy, IT and Bioscience industries. This collaborative effort is a training center that teaches students, both youth and adult learners, the technical skills required by industry partners to ensure that real-world experience components are an integral part of the training programs. Industry partners for each training program provide expertise in developing and maintaining relevant curricula, equipment donations, internships and/or job placements upon successful completion of the training programs.

The ETA opened in August 2008 allowing over 300 clients, both youth and adult learners, to participate in an Information Technology Program , an Oracle Program and an Electronics Program . Each program prepares students for an entry level professional position, for industry-recognized certifications and results in college credit toward an Associate Degree at Arapahoe Community College. "The Expert Technician Academy represents a commitment from the public-workforce development, education and business communities to define, develop and deploy talent into high-skill/high-wage occupations within the metro Denver region," remarked Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Director Joseph Barela.

Starting salaries for professionals with certifications in the ETA programs are very competitive, allowing successful candidates to begin their careers ahead of their peers who don't have this specialized training.
