The federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and DCSD At Risk students provide some additional funds for public school districts throughout the country. This year, three Douglas County middle schools (Mesa Middle School, Castle Rock Middle School, and Sierra Middle School) will receive funds for extra academic support in the area of mathematics. This funding will help to address the needs of students who scored unsatisfactory or partially proficient on the Colorado assessment (CSAP) in mathematics.

Castle Rock Middle School has Response to Intervention (RtI) Math Specialists who co-teach with the regular classroom math teachers to bring additional assistance to students in mathematics.  These specialists also work with qualified students to build their math skills and try to bring them to grade level in math.
