Fund-Giving Opportunities


 SchoolCenter Picture The purpose of the DCEF is to develop private resources to enrich education within Douglas County schools for the fulfillment of lifelong learning experiences of our students, citizens and community.

Grants provided by the DCEF are designed to prepare students, citizens and the community to be responsible global citizens within an increasingly complex and rapidly transforming world.  Grants emphasize the application of knowledge so that individuals go beyond merely knowing to using their knowledge and skills productively.



Responsible Citizen Grant

Semi-annual

DCEF will consider funding grant proposals that assist students with the acquisition of the knowledge and abilities to be responsible citizens who contribute to our society.


Global Citizen Grant

Ongoing 

Available to clubs, classes or schools with a desire to learn more about other languages and/or cultures and who have developed a project promoting cross-cultural education. 


Digital Educator Mentor Grant

Annual

DCEF will coordinate the application process of the 32 educators selected to be a Mentor in the Digital Educator Program.  Mentors will participate in this 3 year program and will help train Mentees in year 2 and 3.


Young AmeriTowne, International Towne, Wildlife Experience
Ongoing

Designed to support classes/schools that wish to participate in this program.


Professional Development Funds

Ongoing

DCEF provides up to $200 for individual awards and up to $500 for group awards. 



Library Resource Grants

Ongoing

DCEF provides matching funds for the purchase of library resources to schools.
