Attendance

Viewing Student Attendance on Parent Portal: Note the color legend when viewing your student's attendance. There have been inquiries regarding the Exempt Code (green). The most common uses for the Exempt Code are for late bus arrival, snow days and field trips.

All tardies to school are unexcused unless a doctor's note is provided. This policy is consistent with the policy at Mountain Vista High School.

First bell rings at 7:25 AM, second bell rings at 7:30 AM.

Students who need to leave early: If it is necessary for your student to leave before the end of the day, please send a note with the time the student will be picked up. Have your student take the note to the office before school starts to obtain a pass that will allow them to leave class at the designated time and be waiting at the office to be picked up. Students need to remember to leave class on time for pick-up. This procedure is a huge help to the office staff and allows for fewer interruptions to the classroom.

Tardies: Students who arrive to class after the late bell rings at 7:30 AM, are tardy and must check in at the attendance office for an admittance pass.
All tardies to school are unexcused unless a doctor's note is provided. This policy is consistent with the policy at Mountain Vista High School.

There are no disciplinary consequences for the first two unexcused tardies in a quarter.  On the third and each subsequent unexcused tardy in a quarter, an after school detention will be assigned. Each quarter we will start the count over, allowing two unexcused tardies, and assigning an after school detention for the third and subsequent unexcused tardies.
