Classroom Rules

1.   It ' s OK to make mistakes! That ' s how we do our best learning.

2. Follow instructions the first time they are given.

3.   Wait until it ' s your turn to talk. Raise your hand and wait to be called on.

4.   Don ' t let anyone or any object into your " bubble " of space.

5.   Pick up after yourself.

*Remember *

•·   We are a team, and we work together

•·   We must let the people on our team do their jobs, but if they ask for help, we ' ll be there for back - up

•·    There are many ways to be " smart ", and we value them all equally

Discipline policy, homerun base

Mrs. Stout's Discipline Policy

In our class, we're a team -- like a baseball team -- that's our theme: Baseball!

Here's how it works . . .  your behavior will be represented by a base that you will write in your planner every day. You have to ask your parents to sign your planner every day so that they will know how your day went.  If you are following all the rules, you will be on 3rd base. That's where you want to be.  You can earn rewards by staying on 3rd base for 5 days in a row -- that's a home-run! But if you forget to follow one of the rules, you only make it to 2nd base that day. If there are 2 rules that you don't follow in the same day, then you are only on 1st base and have to work alone in the classroom. If you continue not following the rules, you will need to take a break in another classroom and work alone until you are in control. This is strike 2. Strike 3 and you're out -- to the principal's office.

If you are following all the rules, you get to pick a reward! There are a lot of choices for your home-run if you stay on 3rd base for 5 days in a row. But don't forget -- you HAVE TO HAVE YOUR PLANNER SIGNED in order to get a home-run!

Here are some things you need to know about our baseball game:

  • Everyone starts on 3rd base each day. A new day is always a fresh start.
  • If you are on 1st base and don't get your planner signed, we call home together to tell your parents what happened.
  • It is YOUR responsibility to keep track of when you earn a home-run and let me know.

  Celebrating Birthdays . . .

We celebrate birthdays in our classroom at 3:30. Students get to go on a little treasure hunt for their birthday present from me, then we sing happy birthday and eat treats if you would like to bring some in! We also send the Birthday Book home so the birthday kid can write about his/her party & presents!
