Dear Parents:
The Long Range Planning
Committee (LRPC), a citizen based committee of the Board of Education, with the
support of District leadership, will be presenting information regarding the
proposed change in grade configurations by adding 6th graders to Cimarron
Middle School commencing with the start of the 2010-2011 school year.
In an effort to communicate the
proposed plan and to listen to community feedback regarding this plan, District
staff, with LRPC support, will host community meetings to present the rationale
for proposing this change in grade configurations. This process is an
opportunity for parents to understand the concept, ask questions and provide
feedback. A final recommendation will be made by the LRPC to the Board of
Education. The Board of Education will make the final decision on the proposed
plan at their meeting on October 20, 2009.
To view the
full letter from the LRPC click on the link at the bottom of this page.
Please join us for one of the
community meetings to be held in the Legend High School Commons. Both meetings
will provide the same information so you need to attend only one.
Wednesday, September 16,
2009 from 7-9:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 17,
2009 from 7-9:00 p.m.
