The purpose of the DCEF is to develop private resources to enrich education within Douglas County schools for the fulfillment of lifelong learning experiences of our students, citizens and community.

Grants provided by the DCEF are designed to prepare students, citizens and the community to be responsible global citizens within an increasingly complex and rapidly transforming world.  Grants emphasize the application of knowledge so that individuals go beyond merely knowing to using their knowledge and skills productively.


Annual: DCEF will coordinate the application process of the 32 educators selected to be a Mentor in the Digital Educator Program. Mentors will participate in this 3-year program and will help train Mentees in year 2 and 3.

NOTE: This grant will not be available during the 2009-2010 school year.

Ongoing: Available to clubs, classes or schools with a desire to learn more about other languages and/or cultures and who have devloped a project promoting cross-cultural education.

Ongoing: DCEF provides up to $200 for individual awards and up to $500 for group awards.

Semi-annual: DCEF will consider funding grant proposals that assist students with the acquisition of the knowledge and abilities to be responsible citizens who contribute to our society.
