Preschool Information |
Arrival/Dismissal Preschool will use door E (next to the playground) for arrival and dismissal. This is where you will sign-in/out your child. We follow the Colorado licensing procedure, which is the following: Your child's name will be on the sign-in/out sheets. Parents will need to sign their name, a phone number where you can be reached, date and sign-in/out time. You may not sign-in/out at the same time. An adult (not preschooler or sibling) must sign-in/out your child. Preschool will need to know in advance if someone other than the parent will be picking up your child and they must show picture ID. Preschool staff will bring out the sign-in/out book and parent files. Please check your file daily. In case of inclement weather, parents/children can wait in the doorway. Preschool staff will let you in the doorway. Please keep your voices quiet as not to disrupt the kindergarten class. Snack/Show-n-Tell Each child will bring their own snack to school each day. You will need to write your child's name on their snack/drink. Your child will put their snack into the snack basket at arrival. Your child may bring a birthday treat to share with the class. Individual snacks may be homemade or prepackaged. Birthday treats must be store bought, per licensing regulations. Clear Sky Preschool is a PEANUT FREE school, make sure you do not send a nut product snack to school with your child. We will have a show-n-tell calendar to let you know when it's your child's turn. Your child may bring a show-n-tell of their choice. Toy weapons are not allowed! Student Illness Please take time to be sure your child is completely well before leaving home. It is the goal of our department to keep staff and students healthy. Please adhere to these guidelines:
Please notify the preschool if your child has a contagious illness or will be absent. If a child becomes ill at school, the parent will be called and will be expected to pick the child up from school. If the parent can not be contacted, we will call your emergency contact.
Change of Clothes/Sunscreen Please keep extra shorts/pants, shirt, socks and underwear in your child's backpack in case of accidents or spills. Backpacks must be labeled! Please apply sunscreen to your child before bringing him/her to school. Preschool staff can not apply sunscreen to children! Delayed Starts/Early Dismissal and School Closures Delayed starts will be 1.5 hours after starting time, this will not affect the afternoon class. Parents will be notified in case of an early dismissal. Please listen to the radio and TV for announcements or check with DCSD website www.dcsdk12.org for snow days. Tuition will not be affected if these occur. Conferences We will have 2 parent/teacher conferences this year, Nov.15th and 16th and Mar. 21st and 22nd. Class Ratio Classroom ratio is 1:10. We can have 15 children per class. There are 3 and sometimes 4 teachers in our classroom. Confidentiality Douglas County Preschools are inclusive classrooms. Preschool staff can not discuss any child with anyone other than their parents. Please be respectful of this. Volunteers We are looking for volunteers for book orders, show-n-tell calendar, holiday parties and to make play-doh. With our class ratio we are not in need of volunteers in the classroom, however, we will have "A Day In Life Of A Preschooler." This will give families the opportinity to spend the day at preschool with their child, a letter will be in your parent file to let you know when it's your scheduled day. Tuition Tuition is due the 15th of each month Aug.-April. When making your payment be sure to include that months coupon.
