Open Campus
Beginning Fall 2009, all DCSD High Schools will implement an "open campus" policy for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This policy will provide the opportunity for students, who are in good academic standing, demonstrate responsible citizenship, and are on-track to graduate, to leave school grounds during their lunch period and during a scheduled open period(s). It is important to keep in mind that "open campus" is a privilege and can be rescinded at any time by school officials and/or per parent request.
Per DCSD Board of Education Policy, all 9th grade students are required to remain "on campus and within the school building" from 7:35 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. In an effort to establish a solid academic foundation, we highly recommended that all 9th grade students enroll in seven academic periods.
Students who desire to remain on campus during their "open period" will be housed in the Grizzly Café, Learning Labs, or the Library (when available). To maintain the integrity of a strong learning environment, students will not be allowed in the academic wing areas during lunch period or during open period(s).

New Parking Information- If you park in the F-Lot and need to leave campus
during the day, you will need to exit and re-enter through the gate to
the Visitors Lot. Also, to exit the Lower/C-Lot you will be required to
make a right turn only out of the parking lot. If you have any
questions or concerns please contact Security.
ALL students that park on campus must have a 2009-2010 parking
permit displayed. Vehicles without a permit will be ticketed and/or
towed. Fee based tickets will be issued this year. Fees will be added
to student accounts that are not submitted to the Security Kiosk in a
timely manner. Students with a parking permit may park anywhere on
campus EXCEPT for the VISITOR'S LOT.
Bikes: Bike parking is allowed in the bike racks located outside
lower C and the Commons in the Courtyard area. Chains will be cut and
bikes will be confiscated and stored in Lost and Found at the Security
Kiosk, if parked in any other areas of campus.
No Loitering - We would like to remind all 10th, 11th and 12th grade students taking
advantage of Open Campus to promptly leave the area after eating your
lunch at one of the local restaurants or purchasing lunch at King
Soopers. Consequences for loitering could result in a Trespassing
Summons from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Let's show our
"Grizzly Respect" to the surrounding businesses by following their No
Loitering Policy, and not jeopardize this wonderful Open Campus
privilege we have.
