Seniors and Alumni

Beginning June 1, 2010, we will no longer be submitting ACT  / SAT scores with your transcript.  You will need to request scores to be sent directly from ACT and/or SAT to the college for which you are applying.  Please make sure you contact the testing agency in a timely manner so they can process your request to meet the college deadline.

Seniors - when requesting transcripts you will no longer be charged a processing fee.

Alumni - you will be charged a $3 processing fee for each transcript request.  Please include payment with your request.

COLLEGE FAIR INFORMATION

How College is Different from High School

The ThunderRidge High School Post Graduate (Post-Grad) Center is a resource center for students, parents and staff that focus' on helping students with their post graduation goals; whether these goals are full time employment upon graduation, military service, technical trade school or, 2 year or 4 year colleges.

The Post-Grad Center is a springboard to researching the plethora of information surrounding the various channels a student can take upon graduation.  It helps students and parents find their way through these many channels. It is the job of the Post-Grad Center to support our students and bring awareness of available opportunities through:

1)   college, tech and military visits
2)   career speakers
3)   online college and career research tools, such as Naviance
4)   view books from colleges
5)   informational packets from outside resources, such as WUE
6)   resource books  on a variety of topics, such as test prep, college selection, essay writing and much more
7)   scholarship and financial aid information, such as FAFSA

The Post-Grad Center is an extension of the Counseling Department. Tamra Maupin is the counselor in charge of the Post-Grad Center, and all other counselors are knowledgeable about the center and its functions.  The counseling office and the Post-Grad Center work closely on student testing and computer programs supporting the student, such as ACT, PSAT, CSAP, ASFAB, PLAN, CHOICES, and Naviance.  Information gleaned from these tests and programs help students to formulate a plan for their future beyond high school.

Post-Grad is a bridge between high school and the future.  It is our job to make this as smooth a transition as possible.  If you have questions regarding the Post-Grad Center, you may call Ann Kelling (Post-Grad Secretary) at 303-387-2204.

Naviance
Naviance is the computer software tool that TRHS uses to help track the progress of our students toward graduation, and their Post Grad preparation.  It is also a wealth of information about scholarships, career and college exploration, and college visits.  Naviance is a powerful tool that will help students with all Post Grad decisions.

Students will create their accounts and student profiles during their Counseling Post Grad meetings.  Students will be pulled by classes to attend these mandatory meetings.

Location :The Post Grad Center is located in the back conference room in the LMC.

Hours: This center is open during school hours for drop in visits. If you would like more information or a consultation about your future plans please make an appointment with your counselor.
