PTO Manager is a web-based volunteer management system that has been in use by the Douglas County School District for the past four years. It is how I contact volunteers, how I keep track of the hours of MVHS volunteers (a requirement by the district), and how I send reminders, thank yous, etc. I am utilizing the system more and more every year and discovering more of it's wonderful capabilities. All volunteer work at MVHS can be managed through the system. PTO Manager - first time users:
Sign in with your email address, and then click "forgot password" and the system will respond and send you a password. You can then change it if you'd like. Once signed in you can update your personal information, or fill it out more completely. Page 2 is your "interests" meaning "What things are you interested in helping with at MVHS?" Page 3 is information about your students. There is a drop down menu of graduation years. The main things I'm interested in are the name(s) of your Student(s) and their class year(s). For instance, if I had a need to contact all junior parents about something, I could do it with one click in PTO Manager, IF all the information was in there. Don't forget to SAVE your information after you've updated.

PTO Manager - active users:
Enter your email and password (and again, if you've forgotten your password, just click "forgot password"). You can use the same email address but must have a different password for each school you are associated with. Then, follow the same procedure as above. You can sign up for events, change your personal information in the system, and change your interests anytime you'd like to.

CHAIR OR CO-CHAIRS FOR AFTER PROM 2011 ARE NEEDED - NOW - PLEASE
Date: Wee hours of the morning on Sunday, April 10 (approximately midnight to 4 a.m.).
I have MVHS penciled in on Brunswick Zone (Lone Tree) calendar so it is ours if the chair or co-chairs decide that is the right location for this year's event. The students and parents last year LOVED the experience at BZ, and I can tell you from experience, it is much easier to hold AP off site than on site. We need to make a firm commitment and pay the deposit (there is money in the account, leftover from last year). Spring is very busy at BZ and they are kind to hold this date for us - but we need to act quickly.
AP has traditionally been the responsibility of junior and senior parents, but we welcome all parents' involvement. It is not my responsibility as Volunteer Coordinator to chair the AP committee, but I will assist in every way possible.
Some fundraising needs to occur, and the sooner we start, the easier it is for all involved.
Please contact me if you or you and a group of your friends are interested in being the chair/co-chairs of AP this year. Thanks.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE MEALS Parent/Teacher Conference Meals: Sept. 29 and Oct. 7 for first semester. Becky Hutchins will be working with me as coordinator of the September meal. I would like a coordinator for the October meal, so please contact me if you are interested. Be on the lookout for e-mails regarding the menu and food donations requested.

HOMECOMING WEEK ACTIVITIES: SEPTEMBER 20-25 You may sign up for all events on www.ptomanager.com. Powder Puff: Monday, Sept. 20 at Shea; ticket takers and chain gang participants needed. Taste of MV: Thursday, Sept. 23 at MVHS during lunch periods. (See above.) Parade helpers/drivers: Friday, Sept. 24. Gym Decorations: Friday, Sept. 24 during the daytime (a no-school day). Dance: Saturday, Sept. 25 at MVHS; ticket takers, refreshments, shoe/coat check, door supervision.
