Before and After School Enrichment Program (B.A.S.E.)
Our program provides an an opportunity for children to learn and have fun in a safe environment.
We provide:
Before care: 6:30am- 8:30am
After care: 3:30pm- 6:30pm
Two half-day (AM or PM) Kindie Explorer classes (in addition to regular kindergarten class)
This "Kindie Explorer" staff will pick up and drop off Kindergarteners from their previously scheduled half-day classes. Lessons are designed to expand upon the subjects being taught in their regular kindergarten class, as well as adding new course curriculum. Your Kindergartener will work on patterns, sequences, letter and number recognition, self help skills, and promoting good citizenship in and out of school!

Compass Care/Kindie Explorer Staff:
Lindsey Simmonds - Director of Compass Child Care
Mrs. Simmonds began working at FVE in July 2008. She was hired as a program leader allowing her to form relationships with the children, and their families, that attend all of our programs. Mrs. Simmonds has a considerable background in teaching and caring for children. Mrs. Simmonds focus is on reinvigorating the quality of Child Care here at FVE. If you ever have any questions her door is always open. Lindsey enjoy's fly fishing, camping, snowboarding and anything outdoors when she is out of the office.
Kimberly Henson - Senior Program Leader
Ms. Henson has worked at FVE for 3 years in the Sped department and has been working with closely with children for over 14 years. Kimberly used to be a "sub" for our program and has recently excepted a job with Compass Care as Senior Program Leader fulltime! Kimberly is spunky and spirited which always keeps the kids energy up!
Katie Schoen - Program Leader
Mrs. Schoen has worked at Frontier Valley since it opened five years ago. She is the Lead teacher for our kindergarten enrichment and is an awesome lead teacher for our before and after school programs. Mrs. Schoen enjoy's playing in the outdoors when she isn't teaching, as well as, practicing yoga!
Kayla Shearer - Program Leader
Ms. Kayla has been working at Frontier Valley for over a year. She can be seen playing basketball with before and after care kids in the gym or helping construct crafts in the cafeteria. We are very proud of Ms. Kayla as she just graduated from Chaparral High School! She will work during the day in all of our programs over the summer and will be working with after care kids this fall when she begins her fall semester at Metro State. Ms. Kayla enjoys camping and hunting in her free time.
Marissa Joiner - Program Leader
Ms. Marissa is the most recent addition to our staff. She joined us in the last two weeks as a program leader and can be seen working in all of our programs. Marissa just graduated with BA in psychology from the University of Washington. Marissa a lot of experience working with at risk 4-5 yr. olds. Marissa enjoys listening to music and drawing when she is not teaching.
Compass Care/Kindie Explorer Staff
(Already working in other positions at FVE):
We have hired some of the existing exceptional FVE staff to lead Before and After Compass Child Care. We found that having these teachers be a part of our team is very beneficial for our staff and the kids! The children already know and trust them as they have seen their smiling faces in classrooms, hallways, and the library!
Lisa Garske: Program Leader (Library/Media/Technology Assistant).
Ms. Lisa has worked at FVE for two years. Lisa follows C track working with Mr. Legg in the Library. When she is off track she helps out with Kindie Explorers. All of the children enjoy seeing her throughout the day and love that she has been able to bring computers into before and/or after care for us to use! Click HERE to read more about Ms. Lisa.

$2.00 Drop-in Fee (please call to ensure we have space)
After Care-
$11.00/$8.80(per sibling) per day
$3.00 Drop-in Fee (please call to ensure we have space)
** 2nd child discount isn't available for Drop-in care**
