Advanced Placement Program:
We currently offer 19 Advanced Placement Courses within all core content areas and are pleased to announce the addition of Environmental Sciences and Government this year.
National Merit Program:
From the Class of 2008, we have 3 students who are National Merit Scholarship finalists and 5 who are commended scholars. The class of 2009 has 3 students who are competing for semi-finalist recognition and 7 commended scholars.
Teachers:
We have the highest caliber of teachers. Over 90% of our teachers teach in the subject area for which they have their primary degree, and over 60% of our faculty has a Master's degree or higher.
Critical Thinking Model:
Academically, our faculty, staff, students, parents and community help our students achieve their maximum potential.
The Varsity Football team is the 2006 Continental League Champion and made it to the Elite 8 in the State Playoffs.
The Girls Softball team has been the Continental League Champions since 2004. Coach Bret Grammerstorf was named 2007 and 2008 Continental League Coach of the Year!
The Girls Volleyball team made it to the final 8 in State in 2007 and 2008.
MVHS Poms were 5A State Champions in 2006 and 2008.
MVHS Cheers are back to back State Champions in the 5A category.
The Field Hockey team made it to the final 4 in State in 2007 and 2008.
Unified Sports:
Because of the amazing support and interest during our Unified Basketball, MVHS started a Unified Soccer in the fall of 2007. Unified sports are for mentally and physically disabled students.
Clubs and Activities:
Students can participate in Ice and In-line Hockey, Ski and Snowboarding Club, Diversity Club, Key Club, Dance Club, FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Link Crew, Boys Rugby, Boys Volleyball and our Ultimate Frisbee Organization.
Vista Vision is a popular weekly news segment produced by Mountain Vista students that students can enjoy during their advisement program, CONNECT, each week in order to become aware of the latest happenings in and around the school community.
Parent Volunteers:
Our dedicated parents at MVHS have logged over 1000 hours to help students, faculty and staff remain a priority in and outside of the classroom.
