Helping Students Achieve at ThunderRidge High School

What is RtI?
RtI stands for Response to Intervention.  RtI is a system for addressing student needs by implementing interventions targeted to an individual student's need.  Interventions range from minor adjustments within the classroom (ie: preferential seating) to more intensive interventions (ie: after school Math Intervention club) to the most intensive of a student being referred to special education for an Individualized Education Plan.  If you have specific questions, please contact Ashley Broer at 303.387.2205 or ashley.broer@dcsdk12.org.

RtI Programs at ThunderRidge

Intervention Programs

The after school intervention programs are intended to provide students a "tutoring session" in a specific subject with assistance from an experienced, certified teacher.  Each program meets one day per week from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and is limited to 10 students per class.  Additional sessions may be opened if the need arises.

Currently TRHS offers the following programs:

  • NEW! Earth Science Intervention offered on Tuesdays
  • NEW! English Intervention offered on Thursdays
  • Math Intervention offered on Wednesdays specifically for students in Algebra I, Geometry or Alegbra II classes

To register for one of the intervention programs offered, simply click on the appropriate application listed below and return to the TRHS Main Office along with a check for the payment of the program.

If you have any questions, please contact Marcia Thomasson at 303-387-2205 or by email at Marcia.Thomasson@dcsdk12.org.

Homework Club

Homework Club is a voluntary intervention for students wishing to have a quiet, structured environment to complete homework.  It meets after school from 3:05-4:30pm two days per week.  The club is sponsored by a staff member. Currently, we do not have enough student interest to form a Homework Club for this school year.  If you are interested in being placed on the wait-list for Homework Club 2009-2010, please contact Marcia Thomasson at 303.387.2205 or marcia.thomasson@dcsdk12.org.
