Knitting Club:   Day:   Wednesdays

Time:   8:15 - 9:00 am

Location: Library

Experienced Knitters: We are continuing to meet every Wednesday in the library! If you are an experienced knitter you need to bring the necessary materials for your project and you do not need to pay a materials fee. We will offer support and troubleshooting on whatever project you choose. If you need help in choosing a project, please ask. There is no need to sign up for these sessions, just show up.

Earth Club:  Day:   3rd Wednesday of the month

Time:   4:05 - 5:05 pm

Location: Art Room

Age:   1st - 6th Grade

What is Earth Club? We are a group of 40 kids who will be "Defenders of the Earth". We will learn about topics ways to help the planet through discussions, hands-on activities and demonstrations. We will learn how to be a Defender in our schools and our homes.

How do we join? Club size is limited to 40 kids. If you would like your child to participate, please email whitlome@comcast.net for a permission slip . We can only accept 40 students! Because we are a small club, it is important that children attend all meetings (except when off track). Space fills up fast!

What will we do at meetings? Each meeting we will have a different topic to focus on as well as a snack. Last year we made "junk" art, built mini-composters and experimented with single-serving versus bulk packaging snacks. This year we have lots more exciting fun planned including creating our own garden and learning about endangered species!

Have questions? For a permission slip, email Mandy Whitlock at whitlome@comcast.net . For questions, you can email Mandy, Mrs. Matousek (kate.matousek@dcsdk12.org) or Mindie Sivey ( mindiesivey@yahoo.com ).
